Tool talk.
Well went crazy this time.  Started with Deleter Manga G dip pen, then tried a Pentel Brush pen but it seemed to feather a bit on the paper.  Then went to Pro-Arte Series 101  #1 Prolene brush.  Then a Gillot 1950 dip pen on the hair.  I’ve been trying hard to find a synthetic brush to use instead of a Kolinksy sable.  I’d tried the #2 Pro Arte but couldn’t really get on with it.  The sable is so much better.  However dropping a size to the #1 actually worked pretty well.  Sort of felt like a cross between using a pen ( but with the ink drying so much faster) and a brush (but without the capability of producing really wide strokes in one go).  I’ll see how well the tip holds up for next time.
